Welcome to Guillemont Junior School

History Fortnight

Every year at the beginning of the Spring Term in January, we celebrate History Fortnight by studying either the Romans, Tudors, Victorians or Greeks. This means that every child will study each period of history during their 4 years at Guillemont.

During the fortnight there will be various trips organised to help the children to understand this period of time. To mark the end of the fortnight on the Friday afternoon, a class tea party is arranged where food is brought in to share with the class. The children are also asked to dress in costumes (teachers included!) A letter detailing all the events that are to take place during History Fortnight are sent out nearer the time, which will also include ideas for the costume.

This event has always been very well supported and enjoyed by both the children and the staff. We also very much appreciate our parents' help too during History Fortnight.
