Residential Visits
Upper Junior classes are offered the opportunity of a residential visit each year. The trips are an extension of the work in class and involve both preparation and follow up work.
The visits are usually to Youth Hostels in either a coastal or inland situation that is very different from our own. The social development of children also plays a very important part on these visits. Children and staff take advantage of full board at the hostels although children are required and encouraged to take on certain ‘chores’ during their stay.
This year our upper school children are going to Burley, near the New Forest. They will be travelling there in our minibuses which will stay with them for the whole week. They start their journey shortly after registration on the Monday and are back at school by 3.25pm on the Friday. A meeting is arranged just before the visit giving parents information on the week's events.
There is a charge of £165 for this year's residential which represents very good value for money. This includes transport to and from Burley and throughout the week, accommodation, all food and drink, entry to places of interest and pocket money for the week.
In the Augumn Term 2010, the children will be visiting Stow on the Wold. The cost for this visit is £185 and payment can be made in instalments before the visit takes place if parents would prefer. If not, we ask for a £20 deposit to be paid to secure the place and the final payment to be made before the visit takes place.
The children thoroughly enjoy their week away with their class and teacher.
We hope that all children will be able to attend.
