Parent Support Adviser
The Fernhill Cluster are pleased to announce the appointment of their Parent Support Adviser. Tracy Clement started on 26th January and may be known to many through her work at ‘The Gaming Zone’.
Hello! I’m Tracy Clement and I’m the new Parent Support Adviser for the Fernhill Cluster, which includes Guillemont Junior School.
Parent Support Advisers are new roles that have been introduced and funded by the Government to help schools to provide greater support for parents and families. The role of the Parent Support Adviser (PSA) is to offer support, help and guidance to all parents / carers and I hope to achieve this by meeting with many of you at school events and functions throughout the rest of the school year.
It is my aim to work directly with parents and carers to help children get the very best out of school and to help support families with any issues, problems or concerns. You may see questionnaires or surveys coming home with your child / children over the next few months – These aren’t compulsory to complete but they will help me to plan and deliver services that you actually want. I also hope to run courses, training sessions, coffee mornings, workshops, events and even help to set up community groups…. Whatever you think we need I will do my best to make it happen.
In addition to all of the above I will also be responsible for;
- Providing access to information
- Supporting parents and families in all issues relating to school life
- Improving school attendance
- Improving behaviour in school
- Supporting parents through ‘transitions’ – from pre-school / home into reception and from primary into secondary school
I hope to set up a coffee morning soon where you can pop along and meet me for a chat. In the meantime if you have any questions, queries or concerns, or would like to raise any issues relating to your child at school please complete the contact form below. I look forward to meeting you soon!
Tracy Clement
