Previous teaching experience and work with children : I worked for the London Borough of Merton as a Leading Maths Teacher focussing across the junior year groups of a large primary school. From London I moved to Suffolk Local Authority as a Primary Mathematics Consultant where I supported First, Primary, Junior and Middle Schools to develop their mathematics provision. I was appointed Deputy Headteacher of Guillemont in 2006 and was excited to return to the class room at such an inspirational school. I was delighted to be appointed Headteacher in 2009 following the retirement of Miss Cook and am thoroughly enjoying the role.
Teaching current age group : As Headteacher I do not have a class teaching commitment. However, I run an extension maths group every year for the most able Year 6 pupils.
Curriculum responsibility : I co-ordinate and oversee the curriculum of both the Upper and Lower Junior teams.
Leadership, PTA or Governing Body Involvement : As chair of the PTA I attend all relevant meetings. I sit on the Governing Body and am also a consultant on the Curriculum committee and strategy committee.
Personal details : My husband and I live in Fleet. Together we enjoy activity holidays including trekking, cycling and exploring off the beaten track. In my spare time I enjoy sketching, painting and reading as well as running and cycling to keep fit.
