Welcome to the Guillemont Junior School Friends of Guillemont page. The Friends of Guillemont (FOG) are an organisation run by parents of the school and dedicated to helping raise money and promote the image of the school in the local community.

Events arranged for this term
Sponsored Walk
This took place on Thursday 23rd October with all the children taking part. They all did extremely well - well done! So far we have raised over £2000. Thank you to all the parents who came in to help with the walk and class tea parties in the afternoon. Please can all sponsor money come into school as soon as possible.
FOG Fireworks Extravaganza
Our annual Fireworks Extravaganza took place on Friday 7th November this year and was enjoyed by families, friends and the local community. A huge thank you to the organisers of this event who give up their time to make this event such a success.
Events organised by your P.T.A in the last year
Summer Holidays Disco
This took place on Friday 13th June and once again this proved very popular with the children and a great evening was had by all! Thank you to all the parents and staff who gave up their time to help at the disco.
Secret Santa
This was held on Friday 14th December much to the delight of the children. We raised over £400 towards school funds and we would like to thank all the parents and children who supported this event.
Fireworks Extravaganza
Our Spectacular firework display took place on Friday 2nd November. Once again this event was a great success and enjoyed by all! A very big thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time to help.
Sponsored Walk
Our annual sponsored walk event took place on 18th October. So far we have received over £3000. Many thanks to everyone who has collected sponsors and especially our children who took part!
AGM 2008
The Friends of Guillemont AGM took place on Monday 17th March at 3.30pm in the school hall. You can view the accounts for the year ended 31st January 2008 that were presented at this meeting, by clicking on the link below (in word format). As you can see we have had a very successful year fundraising and I would like to thank everyone who has helped us to achieve this through the support you give at our various fundraising activities. It is very much appreciated.
We incorporated the AGM with a Year 3 Assembly to which parents were invited to come along and watch their children being presented with a Thesaurus, provided by the Friends of Guillemont, as a gift for their time spent at Guillemont.

How is the money spent?
Well, all monies raised go back to support the school and therefore benefit your children in many ways. From funding the minibuses for residential and day trips, digital cameras, to more recently providing a much wanted basket ball net in the school playground. Last year we leased a laptop trolley which has proved invaluable to the classroom with each laptop being shared by two children.
Other ideas include:
Outdoor seating for children,
Collapsible goal posts,
CD players for every class,
Making good the muddy areas near the pathways,
Keeping the minibuses on the roads.

A warm welcome to all new children & parents. You can help raise money by ordering your child’s name tags from the attached company. £1 to the school for each order. Thanks for your support!
Got a spare 30 minutes?
There are always many jobs you can pop in and help with in school.
From library tidying, photocopying, reading or listening with children, gardening, stock taking and many more. Alternatively you may have your own talents and skills you can offer.
Please do write and let us know what day/s times etc you could make and we can then co-ordinate your help by setting up a register of helpers at reception. Don’t worry if you can’t always make it, any help gratefully received. Looking forward to hearing from you.
