Childcare

We offer extensive out of school hours care at Guillemont Junior School.

Our child care service is called The BASC (Before and After School Club).

We also have the Orchard Nursery on the school site. For details click here.

Before and After School (BASC)

BASC is part of Guillemont Junior School (Ofsted Registration No 116157) and is open 7:45am – 8:30am and 3:25 – 6:00pm weekdays, during term time only and is available to children who attend the school.

The school do not currently offer holiday care.

Sessions take place in our designated BASC rooms, as well as accessing the school playground and adventure play equipment.

We value the relationship with our parents and carers and are committed to working in partnership with you to provide quality care for your children.

At the BASC we aim to provide a safe, secure and relaxed environment, offering a range of activities to reflect the interests of the children so that they can play, learn and grow personally.  They can gain the knowledge of teamwork, respect and general life skills that will nurture and develop them to their full potential during their time with us, which we believe will support them in their future journeys through life.

All children who attend will be treated equally, regardless of their background or needs.

Children are free to choose from a selection of activities and resources, including dressing up, craft, board games, construction, age appropriate computer games and reading.  Weather permitting outdoor physical activities and sports will be on offer too; basketball, football, hula hooping, tennis and adventure playground circuits.

We have a fantastic team of staff who are experienced and qualified.  We uphold the school’s vision and values – Curiosity, Aspiration, Resilience, Independence and Respect.

We fully committed to ensuring that the children are cared for, with their needs and safety as our first priority.  We always listen to both the children and their parents’ views and help in any way we can and we are always happy to discuss your child’s achievements, experiences, progress and friendships along with any difficulties that may arise.

We aim to make all our activities fun and suitable for various ages and stages of development (supporting the school learning structure).  They will be interesting, stimulating and promote each child’s social, physical, moral, personal and intellectual development ensuring that these take part in a safe and supervised environment.

We have arts & crafts, face painting, film nights, Lego, junk modelling, outside activities (weather permitting) and lots, lots more.

Our Fees

As a club and as several of our staff are parents of children of Guillemont, we understand your concerns when choosing the right childcare for your children and the costs that are involved in that decision.  This is why we are committed to providing a fair and open admission system that offers a competitively priced and excellent value for money package for the high level and quality of service we provide.

Also, as a provider of registered childcare, we both encourage and actively support eligible parents/carers claiming and taking up the childcare element of the Working Tax Credit and approved Childcare Vouchers.
